steam heat gas fired
I have 1 pipe steam heat, boiler in basement. All radiators in 2 floor house get hot except the radiator in another basement room, which is horizontal on the ceiling. That radiator works like this: with thermostat up to 73 degrees radiator doesn't heat; at 73-76 degrees get heat in pipe to valve, valve and 1/4 of radiator get hot (rest cold); 77-78 degrees and higher (yikes!)entire radiator warms up, but if return to 72 doesn't reheat again. Just changed the valve, the air vent verified the pitch and cleaned the pipe on the radiator. What's the problem?

Anticipator
Might be the anticipator needs adjustment to the amperage rating of the burner. It could also be a mercury thermostat out of level. It seems so predictable, what you are seeing, I would start there.
May be something else, that just jumped out at me."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
