Dole 1As are only good for about 3 PSI. You may have hit the nail on the head with "I think the pressure is a little too high"

New Steam Vents (Dole) Don't Close
Hi, I have replaced a couple of the older air vents on my steam radiators with Dole 1-A Varivent 1/8" Angle vents. I put on two of them but have noticed that don't readily close like my other vents (these say USAV-880B on them). They stay open, even when venting steam, unless I give them a light tap. Of course, this can also cause them to spring open when they are closed. The other vents I have snap shut (usually with a bit of a noise), but BOTH of these new ones do not.
I am having a professional take a look at my system as whole pretty soon because I think the pressure's a bit high, but I was wondering if I should take these back to the hardware store and get ones that close properly.
Many thanks!

okay I didn't realize, it said up to 15 PSI. The pressurtrol is currently set at roughly 3 but I didn't want to change it without having someone look at it.0
