Where to buy fiberglas resin pipe wrap?

Good idea. But I've seen pipes covered with the modern equivalent, which I am guessing is a fiberglas or polyester bandage with what I am guessing is an epoxy resin. It just seems more permanent.

When insulating the steam piping near the boiler, it is not suitable to use PVC covers. Does anyone know where I can but what look like rolls of bandage that that is dipped in water and then hardens with a plastic resin, to provide a protective cover?

    Plaster of Paris

You can buy the rolls of plaster of paris from the hobby store. It works great. If you ever broke a bone back in the 70's you know exactly what I'm talking about.
