Which burner do you have? Riello? Are you backfeeding to B1 in the aquastat??

anyone else having trouble w/ Honeywell digital aquastats?

I have installed a handful of boilers w/ tankless coils that have had the new Honeywell digital aquastats (8124A replacement), The first one had me worried when the power indicator light flickers, but all seemed ok.

Yesterday, emergency boiler install. Buderus G115/34 and a ST200. First cold start aquastat version for me. Problem from the get go was not firing the burner, then the control read the "5" error message-"check L1 and L2". All seemed ok..118V, polarity correct as far as I know. Then, the error message would morph into a 000 readout-no code for that. Argo circ relay, XX terminals are sendng a dry signal to TT on the Honeywell-no backfeed voltage there.

I finally, at 10 pm, installed the old 8124 off the old boiler and everything is ducky.

    Bad control? Ground issue?

    Carlin

using factory wiring harness w/ factory plug, other end goes to aquastat. Harness carries Red for constant (NLH), B1 (dedicated spade connector), L2, and ground. Pretty basic.

I'll try another control and see what happens. Still happens then I think we have a ground issue..maybe:)

    Aquastats

    Bob,
Be sure the polarity is correct. Had the same problem early on with those controls. You can't trust what you find in those old electrical boxes. I have gotten into the habit of testing hot/neutral every time. You'd be surprised how often they are swapped.
