i have a two pipe vapor steam system - setting vapor stat?

i had a new burnham boiler installed last october and just had much of the piping redone because the installer didn't follow burnham installation instructions, namely using copper piping for a single header and eliminating the second header by capping it. He also used the psi stat that came with the boiler,and never took the reading from the old vapor stat, so there is no data to set the new vapor stat that was installed, when the piping was replaced with black iron . the vapor stat is now set at 2-12 but seems to be short cycling. Any data on setting vapor stats? Is there anyone in Westchester,Bronx, Conn. you could suggest, since vapor systems are extinct, and there aren't many dinosars left that know these systems. Please Help........
