Heat Surge Fireless Flame

My Mom called me today and asked if I knew anything about this heater which is advertised as being made by the Amish and helps lower heating bills. She suggested it as a gift idea for my family but I said I'd rather check it out first. I wonder if any Wallies have had any experience selling this unit or know of it and could offer their opinion. It is advertised for right around $600 and for some houses, it might pay for itself in 1-2 years. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Here's my 2-cents...
I Googled the product and saw only scam-type ads...
The manufacturer is NOT in Amish country.
I suspect a light bulb, tin foil and some cabinetry and sheet metal is about it. This, for "only" 250-bucks.
John, there is no free lunch, cold fusion is not viable and unless there's a U-238 pellet in the center of the light bulb, no savings to be found.
Nontheless, the "appearance" of things warm and fuzzy can impart a feeling of well being, not unlike a nice Merlot and candles and some Bill Evans "Plays for Lovers" in the background.
Hell, I'm feeling the warmth already!
