Solar Decathlon in '09'

Bob - See you there! Turned out there were a number of Wallies at the SD that first weekend. The crowds were so thick, we never saw each other.

Thanks HR, I was hoping they'd include more pictures. Lois & I had hundreds of pics to cull through with several dozen 'keepers' in the mix for the top three award winners.

I'm working with one of the '09' teams on their plans. Entries must be submitted in two weeks & the DOE will eliminate all but 20. Once decided, that gives each team less than two years to move from concept to finished product. I sat in with the college professors a few weeks ago as students presented their conceptual designs for the '09' SD. Young vibrant minds with no barriers - their imaginations soared and were reflected in their presentations - complete with CAD drawings and minerature working models. Their challenges are many, but their optimism and enthusiasm will rule the day.

Gives me chills...

to sit among those bright minds and wonder what challenges they will see in the future, and how they will handle them.
