Is the water level steady or does it move up & down?

My steam system is running fine but I noticed that while the boiler is making steam there is a slight drip of water every 5 seconds from within the top of the gauge glass. This is all internal within the gauge glass with no external leaks. This is something new this year is there any reason this is happening or just leave it? Thanks Jim0 -
Maybe
It has always happened but you never noticed?
I can easily see the steamer making nice, dry steam and with the top of the gauge glass essentially a piece of bare pipe, a little condensation would be expected. As you noted, it is inside the steam-side, not an outside leak.
Perhaps that your system is running well, it is a tear of joy?
Of course, if you spend that much time down in the basement staring at your emotive boiler, perhaps there is another hobby in your future?
(I am guilty of "boiler visiting" myself. Even have a chair down there.... I will switch to a one-legged bar stool as part of my 12-step recovery program... )"If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
