I have a comerical STEAM boiler (1,000,000 btu) that is just starting to leak on top. Is it really possible to dope it by filling it up and heating the water(with dope in it) or am i just wasting time. I tried it on two other boilers on the same apt. project without sucsess. My customer is running out of $ and just needs to buy some time.
Thanks

not advisable
when using as i have seen others the likes of boiler sealants or the old timers trick of oatmeal the big promblems are clogging lwco and air vents and possiblablity of retruns it may buy you time but be sure that the lwco work properly and that some one is checking these boilers daily ,for if you seal it your liable also check piping leading to safety valves to ensure that they are not clogged ,sooner or later the boilers will have to be replaced better to replace then have a bigger accident peace and good luckclammy0
