I am a firm believer in recycling---- right into the scrap bin. The vent is one of the most important items for quick, balanced and efficient operation of a steam system. New is well worth the cost to gain the return.

steam vent recycling
Ok fellas? can we clean the vents up and reuse them? How can we test them other than on the job?
What is the mix? vinagar/water ??
With copper where it is, it seem to me if the expansion element is good, we may be able to clean them up?

John,
yes sometimes boiling the vents in vinegar will get them working again if they were plugged with mineral deposits.
What the mixture is?, I don`t know.
I`m sure someone else will chime-in!
