Wayne Power Burner
What would make a Wayne Power burner cycle on and off on an HB Smith steam boiler? The pressuretrol is NOT going off and neither is the thermostat and the low water cut off. Boiler is calling for heat and is hot but burner runs for 2-3 minutes...shuts off for 30 sec. and fires right back up.0 -
If it is Oil,.. what kind of Primary control is it equipped with?
A cad cell may go into a "recycle" mode if it detects a loss on flame (if this happens, and there was no loss of flame, its possible that there is too much combustion air supplied to the burner)
We definately need more info as far as oil/gass, and model and part numbers to give you any solid info. There was an error rendering this rich post.

Thanks Dave, Norm,
It is gas fired and new. Haven't had many dealings with power burners. I do not have model number with me right now but I will get it and post it. Thanks.0 -
Is it a replacement job?
Sounds like you have a thermostat for a power-pile system not 24v, this will cause short cycling.0 -
No. I checked the thermostat. It is an older 24v chronotherm. It was calling for heat. The low water cut off was fine, the pressuretrol was ok.0
