Heat load calculation
I am trying to do a heat loss calculations for an addition I am putting on my house. I have downloaded Slant Fins Heat Loss Calculator. I will be using SIPS for the walls and Roof and ICFS for the foundation. My problem is coming up with a number for the wall and ceiling factors. The foundation walls will have an R-Value of about 26. The SIP walls will be 5" of foam with an R-Value of 24. The SIP roof panelw will be 9" with an R-value of 32.0 -
1 divided by R value = U value
If I'm not mistaken, that program is based on U values, which are the inverse of R values. So, take 1, divide it by the R value and you will have the U value equivalent.
So, 1 divided by 26 = .038, 0r round up to .04. and so on and so forth.
METhere was an error rendering this rich post.
