Air Problem
Hey all, I need some help with one. The same problem is happening on two systems, so it is a two for one answer. The system is a wood boiler connected to a flat plate hx. The boiler on the other side of the hx is a system 2000 with 4 zones of heat. The sytems 2000 has a system pump which is turned on by an aquastat. Contractor put a primary loop from the hx, through the boiler and is also on constant circ. The idea is to keep the boiler hot with the wood boiler without turning the burner on. The loop pump is also a 007 pump that is constantly circulating the water through the boiler. The problem is that when a stat calls the zone valve opens and the boiler pump starts and the system becomes airbound. However whenever the sytem works independant of the wood boiler, the system appears to be fine. My first thought was that the loop pump is to small to overcome the pressure drop through the boiler and the system pressure drop. Any other ideas or questions ???0
