RHT PEX

I often wonder if the big boys like Uponor and Rehau aren't taking serious liberties with their mark up. There are a few brands of PEX out there that are significantly cheaper with the same warranty and approvals.
Time to do some research...

RHT PEX
Anybody heard of this stuff? Saw it on a job the other day. Has all the approval ratings but at $.27/FT I am suspicious. It is O2 barrier.
These guys sell it: www.blueridgecompany.com0 -
Nobody's heard of this stuff?0 -
Yes, We know who RHT is...
That's our ole buddy Richard Trethewey. It's good pipe, I've used a lot of it and haven't had a problem with it.0 -
Wait hold the presses. I don't think this is a brand endorsed or manufactured by Richard Trethewey. His company RST, Inc. (a manufacturers rep) promotes Rehau. If I had my own brand of PEX I would promote it and sell it. And I would assume the pex would be called RST instead of RHT.0 -
those guys import and sell
I'm familiar the the company. He imports containers from overseas - pex tube is just one of the items. Manifolds too. I have no idea if markings are legit or not.0
