24 Volt Standing pilot Gas Valve Troubles

I am having trouble getting one stage of a six stage boiler system to work. I am having troubles with stage 3. Stage 3 and 4 are wired together off of the same 24V transformer, stage 4 operates fine, but stage 3's burner is not lighting when it is called for by my control. Both stage 3 and for again are wired together off of the same transformer. I am getting the correct voltage at the gas valve on stage four, but when I test stage three, I am getting no Voltage. So in my mind that would mean I have no return voltage to the transformer. But I just don't understand how stage 4 works correctly and stage three doesn't light at all. Any have any troubleshooting or solutions for me. thanx

  • What kind of

system is this, make, model, gas valve numbers, control numbers. Are you a service tech? If not I suggest you call a professional.

    What is your location?

it is a forced hot water system. Yes I am a Service Tech. I am useing a Tekmar Control, Not sure of the numbers on the Honeywell gas valve, since I left the boxes at the job. I am in boston. They are a series of Cast Iron Boilers. They have just simple aquastats on the boilers, and the Tekmar tells the stages to fire according to outside temperature.

    I'm sure

I am sure you checked for proper connections, i am asuming parallel, but check the integrity of the connections for corrosion. under load of gas valve the connection might be compromised

    seems to me

that if you have 24v feeding the wire to the valve, but no 24v at the other end, check the continuity of the wire....
