radiator valve question

I am looking to buy some rad. valves for my hot water system. I saw some on ebay thet say 15 psi. max. pressure. I was told that number was for steam. Will these work for a hot water system - safely? They are made by Hammond.

Thanks,

John

I just want to make sure it will be OK on hot water heat with a max of 20 psi.

I would refrain from using steam valves for a hot water system. Just a gut feeling on this one. They should be maxed at 30 psi. Your union connection must be very tight.

Actually Hammond doesn't make a difference bewteen the two on their website. Their max pressure is stated to be 60 psi. There is a seperate angle valve specifically for gravity hot water systems.

It is not a gravity system. I did see their website but their definitions were just a little unclear to me. I just don;t want to do the job twice.
