Outdoor design temps

Too tall an order for me. I mean, one or two is fine...

Roland's idea seems a bit more practical.

I ordered my data on CD-ROM for $75 a few years ago, via the NOAA web site. Still a good deal but much more information than you need if you just want temperatures.

    Outside design temps

Where do I get a copy of outdoor design temps for doing heat losses?

    Common sense or...

    NOAA weather data.

Simply ask the homeowner the coldest day he can recall in the past five years. If it seems mild, use that number. If it seems like a once every 100-year exception, add 10F

There is substantial "fudge" in boiler ratings anyhow. I=B=R numbers are ~ 15% above actual output. I would never size a boiler based on this 15% fudge inclusion - but I would use 5-10% of it, if the next model size up was more than 25,000 BTU's too big!

If you let me know your geographic location

I may be able to post a PDF of USAF data, if not ASHRAE data. Let me know?

I would be interested in the ASHRAE PDF files if possible for the entire country. I know they had a chart which listed states and some cities in each state. This is for some research I am working on. Thanks

Try this link. It works by zip code. And it's free.
