I'M BIDING ON A JOB THAT HAS A 2 PIPE GRAVITY SYSTEM WITH 4 PIPES 2 SUPPLIES & 2 RETURNS. THIS BOILER WAS COAL THEN OIL THEN NAT. GAS AND IS QUIT OLD & INEFFICENT. *1ST THE LADY OF THE HOME WANTS TO REMOVE 2 CAST RADIATORS. DO I CAP THEM OFF BELOW THE FLOOR OR LOOP THEM TO HELP WITH THE VOLUME & FLOW OF WATER? *2ND IN THE KITCHEN THEY WANT INFLOOR RADIANT ADDED THE FLOOR HAS ORIGINAL OAK HARD WOOD OAK FLOORING. I'M PLANING ON INSALLING EXTRUDED ALLUMINUM STAPLE UP PLATES WITH FOIL BACKED INSULATION UNDER PANELS. I KNOW ABOUT THE LOWER WATER TEMP NEEDED BECAUSE OF THE WOOD FLOORING BUT ALWAYS EAGER TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OTHERS VIEW POINTS! *3RD. IN THE NEW 2 STORE ADDITION THERE WILL BE HARDWOOD, CARPETING & TILE. ALL NEEDING A DIFFERENT WATER TEMP. BUT MY BIGGEST UN KNOWN IS HOW TO TIE INTO THE OLD SYSTEM WITH OUT HURTING ITS PREFORMACE WITH USING PUMPS ON THE NEW SYSTEM. IF WE KEEP THE OLD BOILER! *4TH MY IDEA IS TO UPDATE THE BOILER TO A TRIANGLE TUBE HIGH EFF. BOILER WITH DHW PRIORITY AND USR E THAT FOR TH OLD SYSTEM WITH DOWN SIZING THE PIPE DIA. BY 1/2 THE NEXT SIZE DOWN (AS SEEN ON THE WALL)THANKS. THEN ADD A LOW HEAD HIGH VOLUME PUMP, NEW EXPANTION TANK, AUTO FILL SYSTEM, MICRO BUBBLE AIR ELIMINATER. FOR THE NEW SYSTEM USE A PRIMARY SECONDARY PIPE ARANGEMENT (AND ADD MIXING VALVES ONLY IF TEMP. DIFFERENCES ARE NEEDED BECAUCE OF THR DIFFERENT FLOOR COVERINGS & ZONING.) BUT IF THEY WILL NOT LET ME UPGRADE BOILER WHAT ARE YOUE IDEAS ON HOW TO TIE INTO THE OLD SYSTEM!!!
PS. THEY HAVE TEES THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE THERE IS A MARKING OF A CIRCLE WITH A DOT INSIDE THE CIRCLE AT ONE END OF THE TEE DOSE THAT INDICATE THE DIRECTION OF FLOW??
