Teflon Tape was a firing offense at my shop for years, finally I said fire me and started using it on steam jobs and anywhere I could see the need to pull something apart for a later repair ie extrols water feeds etc and finally the boss caved.

Is that the hartford loop connection right by the fluepipe, under the barametric damper, with the equalizing line comming in at a 45?
It may be an optical illusion but it look a little jigh in that picture.
The piping looks fantastic! Excellent work!

Thank you Norm
Actually do to the space limitations there is a gas water heater behind the equalizer line so I piped the header after the last riser over the smoke pipe and went down at a forty five to the Hartford loop takes another forty five just above the tee and drops straight down, I have done it that way many times with no problems. The tee is two inches under the waterline and I thought it was high too until I pulled out the level to double heck myself.0 -
Thank You Frank
and coming from you I consider it the highest of compliments, and yes my boss is totally sold on the Smith 8 series on steam boilers but I keep plugging the Megasteam. When I arrived at this site the boiler was piped with a inch and a half copper header and split to two 2 inch mains via inch and a quarter copper pipe a third split went to one lonely raid on the second floor via one inch copper.0 -
That boiler
can burn gas too- check this out:

I know it can do gas
too however in this area we have many accounts that are no where near a natural gas main and I do not see propane as being a viable option in the near future, plus I work for an Oil/Propane Dealer, don't think he will be installing too many NG units but I have done a few including two WM Ultras one at his sisters and one in the office of a steel fabrication plant.
If you want to see impressive the saws that they cut the steel I beams with for bridge girders and buildings looks like a six foot tall table saw blade and just cuts across those beams like butter but at a slower pace.0
