I'll be moderating a panel of five contractors, winners of our 'Best Contractor to Work For' contest. If form holds true, this will be a blend of residential and commercial businesses.

I just went to the AHR website. I know the show part of it will be great. I looked at the list of seminars and have a question.

I'm a field supervisor for an oil company. 99.99% of our accounts are residential. It seemed to me that the seminars are either sales or commercial/industrial oriented. Does AHR not cover technical topics for residential? Or did I just miss it. I'm going to look again.

Yes, I know, everyone that interacts with a customer should be thinking sales.

    January in NYC???

Now who would want to be in NYC in January? I've heard of global warming, but do palm trees grow in Central Park yet? :)

    The palm trees

    are there Paul.

It's just that all of their leaves fell off.

They look a lot like telephone poles that time of year.

    AHR Seminars

Many of the seminars and forums are based on current research projects or are related to new developments in the standards or handbooks. Very little of what ASHRAE does is geared directly towards residential applications but much of what ASHRAE does apply in the residential world. Pick out the seminars that interest you the most and then sift through the information including a printed copy of the presentation which is available at the book store. You may be surprised what comes out of it.

    AHR Expo

Man, I had a great friggin' great time in Chicago at AHR Expo a couple of years ago. It was like going to Disneyland for HVAC contractors & service techs. Had an awesome time!
