I was reading the info on these vents & these vent don't allow air back into the system. Does that sound right? I thought you wanted to break the vacuum when the system shuts down on oil fired or gas fired boiler. Anybody have any insight? TIA

Spirax Sarco products are typically aimed at industrial steam applications, not residential. They're usually meant to work with steam pressures considerably higher than those found in residential systems, and with very different needs. The systems this vent was designed for do not 'breathe' and the ingress of air is usually much more problematic than in the residential systems.0 -
