    Tekmar 256 vs. Taco PC700-2

I have been shopping for a ODR to use in conjunction with my gas fired boiler, which is controlled by a Honeywell L8148E aquastat.

I have been looking at the Tekmar256 and Taco Pc700-2, and have come to the conclusion that not only do they seem similar in function, but they also appear to be almost physically identical. The only difference I could find was that the Taco has a permanently wired pigtail connector for interfacing into a Taco relay.

Can anyone tell me if either of these models has an advantage over the other, is more reliable than the other, or are somehow significantly different?

Even the instructions seem to read the same, so I'm wondering if they are both really the same unit OEM'd from one or the other and simply rebadged.

    Thanks
    Al

    Tekmar

They are basically the same control from Tekmar. The Taco has the advantage of a more simple set up from a wiring perspective and allows a painless interface to their relays.

If you have Taco EXP relays, use the PC700.
