MUNCHKIN High Efficiency Heater

The heater was installed about 2 years ago. The noise started as soon as the blower motor was replaced. If there's any small gap between the Ventori and the new blower motor could this be it. I have someone looking at it now and he thinks the cork gasket is missing. He can't see it when looking at the side??. I thought it was there when i replaced the motor. And I believe it is.. What needs to be cleaned and can I do this myself.

This is the M140. heater.. The blower motor was replaced and since then during operation startup there is a loud vibrationRumbeling noise. During slow speed there is whinning simalar to a Whale matting call. The blower motor pulls in the gas/air mixture and pushes it into the burner. I have had a few people in to look at this with no resolution. I have also talked with tech support at Heat Transfer, This is who makes the Munchkin.. They think I should have someone do a combustion analizer. Does this sound like the problem.. At my witz end.. Any sugestions.

    Known issue?

    Mike,

I own a Munchie as well..an 80M. I have not had the problem you describe but I've seen those symptoms posted on this site a number of times before.

I suggest using the search feature of this site and do a keyword search for 'Munchkin' or 'Munchkin fan'or 'Munchkin blower'...etc, you get the idea :o).

    Munchkin noise etc

How long has it been installed, if over a year it needs cleaning/service. On top of that, yes it does need analyzing with combustion analyzer no mater what. Good luck.

The first time at least it should be done by qualified mechanic and you watch closely to learn.
