Brian,
Step #1. Get any kind of reference pressure drop through this heat exchanger. Any reference to a pressure drop. (something like (2 gpm @ 1# or 2 gpm @ 2.31')
Step #2. Do you know what the gpm that is required? If not, what is the btu's you want to transfer?
Step #3. I use my B&G System Syzer to "figure" the new pressure drop required with "your" gpm. (I can do that if you give me the information from step 1 &2)
Step #4 Keep in mind this is only for the heat exchanger and not for any piping loss.
Peace.

If this is an old existing heat exchanger, just give me more information....What is the heat exchanger for? What is their now? Pipe size, existing pump, etc.
Give me something to work with and we can figure it out.
What is the situation....homeowner, contractor, etc. Doesn't matter, just need to know how detailed to get.0
