honetwell s86a?
hey all, customer calls with no heat today..peerless 2 head steamer.electronic pilot.. says heat was on last night and today nothing... thermostat has no spark and boiler feeder, lwco responds to nothing.. the transformer has power.. jumped the thermostat wires and have no sparking at all.. im ruling out the s86a? need to go there tomorrow.. any ideas? thanks all0 -
Make sure
you have voltage to the S86A in all the right places. If everything else looks OK it's probably a bad S86A. I believe the latest Honeywell S8610U can be set up to replace almost any spark module.

well
i have voltage from the transformer to the s86a but nothing else has power.. the self feed on unimatch doesnt work, the lwco does not respond to lw conditions and the thermostat wires have no spark at all!!! is the s86a also referred to as a power pack? thanks0 -
Sounds like a bad connection
somewhere.... maybe in one of the controls?

Maybe
the thermostat is bad?

Go over it
with your voltmeter to see where you have power and where you don't. It sounds like a loose or bad connection somewhere.

rollout switch
Ohm out your rollout and safety limit's to see if one is open would be my first guess...0 -
gonna
get more in depth tomorrow.. i kinda ruled out the s86a because i had power at the transformer but no where else.. thanks all0 -
Follow the voltage
If your transformer is good, follow the voltage around with your meter as per the wiring diagram of the boiler. Usually pasted inside the jacket cover. Its like a big circle - going through the damper switch, the roll out switch, the blocked vent switch, LWCO, gas valve, etc. Anyone of them can shut you down. Soon as the voltage stops, you've got at least one of your problems identified.0
