Baseboard / piping help

I have base board heat, the only problem is in the basement. The piping leaves the boiler for the loop at 1" then reduces to 1/2" for about 3/4,s of the house. The pipe runs to my secnd floor as 1/2" then returns and proply upsizes back to 1" then proceeds to reduce at the next base to 1/2" then runs back upstairs at 1/2" returns to the basement and upsizes again to 1" back to boiler. My problem or ? is 1. i have gurgling in the lines but get very little air from the bleeders. 2. can the cause of the air be the diffrent size piping? 3.Ican't make the piping bigger leading to the baseboard due to the fact it spans 2 floors and under the floor. The system is working ,my only concern is the diffrent pipe sizes.Should i reduce the 1" to 3/4?Would that possibly eliminate the gurgling - air in the line.I have bleeders on all the baseboard yet it is very difficult to get much air out.Ihere gurgling in only a few areas , not the whole system.

Check to make sure the bleeders are really at the top of the baseboard runs. Not all, especially old houses have flat floors. Even if the baseboards are level the air will come out quicker if you open the trim and pull the part with the bleeder up a little bit and then with it blocked up open it. Also air may come out in spurts: some air, some water, some more air, etc. You may also have air trapped in the "high" part of the 1" pipe. Can you purge your system? Is there a ball valve and drain side by side somewhere in the piping run?0 -
are you making any head way with this ?
do you know how to purge a line?
it might be easier to simply let someone who does the work for a living do what he does and you do what you do, it would likely be the best way to get the best done by both of you .
and quicker*~/:)
what is unthinkable for you is run of the mill ho humm for a boiler plumbing heating contractor.
to me a little water will dry up, to you it might seem like some uh O! Ooops! the place will be flooded..and fight or flight take over...:)0
