where TO START.
clean THE PILOT ORIFICE FIRST AND IF ITS A SEPERATE FLAME SENSOR, CLEAN THAT. What ignition module is in the furnace? S8610U1003?

The old S8610U is gone...
It has been replaced by the S8610U3009, a completely updated version of the old grey S8610. It's black, is capable of pre-purge, post purge, both, or none. Also has diagnostic LED's & Enviracon plug for the "OnWatch" diagnostic pen (green model). Acvailable from any Honeywell distributor. Go to www.customer.honeywell.com, scroll down to the lower right, type in the part nimber, and you'll get a PDF file of the tech sheets for this control. You don't need a password, and there is no charge.0 -
Turns out the gas valve was bad.The coil that controls main flow had an open in it.Put a new Honeywell universal in there and presto heats on.Thanks for the help guys/gals0 -
Greg C?
1 Q:,...It went from a intermittent problem of cycling then off. Reset and boom, it went on. My Q: is why did the New GV make it alright? Valves are usually good or bad, although they can malfunction, but not in the way you originally described,. Just curious...

Yes I have
the same question as Mike T?????0 -
Exactly what I always found to be the case with anything like that, its either good or bad.I'm thinking the customer got the symptons confused as I was the third person to look at this problem.0 -
I have seen,,,
corroded or loose terminals on gas valves cause intermittent operation problems.0
