there is plenty i do not know so , on your solar mixer does the X block tie into the supply side of the mix and an additional line feed the same side of the mix with zone control valves... what does that mix block look like underneath the insulation *~/:) ?

i think that the pressure differential by pass is on the right side of the header :)

i cant quite see the path of flow my eyes no looky to good ...:)

ok i see .... well, you have a knack with the 'Squeezer Tool" rolling those street 45's like that is an art in and of itself:)

    re: Solar phoenix install

Let's see if i can answer your questions Weezbo. The X Pump Block is strictly to separate the potable water from the radiant and operate a an outside reset.
The Solar Phoenix Tank has one coil on the bottom for solar harvesting. When it's sunny outside the Oventrop Control turns on a wilo pump and hot water is transfered into the bottom of 119 gallon tank. This is also where the city cold enters. The Second coil is a large heat exchanger tied to a mini munchkin. The tank is relying on stratification of the two water temperatures.
The top of the tank has Domestic Hot water output, and an auxiliary input/output. We tied the radiant to the auxiliary. I will try and pull the cover off the Oventrop Pump module and snap a picture. Yes that's a Pressure Differential on the right side of the header. :-)Thanks for the compliments. Stay warm up there.
PS~ What's behind the name weezbo?

    Oventrop

We haven't used the oventrop Solar collectors yet. Thermomax, Viessmann and American Solar so far. All Evacuated tubes. How about you?
