We are trying to make it as easy as possible for service guys. We also have a new S8610U3009 IP spark module, with new diagnostic LED's, Enviracom enabled, pre/post purge, etc. Also, there is a new Universal Integrated Furnace control, S9200U1000 that replaces single stage heat/cool, line-voltage hot surface gas ignition control. It replaces 122 OEM controls. Also, there is the ST9103A1002 electronic fan timer board that replaces 22 different OEM's boards. Both boards ship with appropriate wiring harnesses.

I just wanted to say Congratulations...
to Honeywell on their new S9200U Universal Hot Surface Ignition control board replacement kit.
I just installed my 1ST one yesterday in a Nordyne furnace, and I was very impressed. Great instructions, easy to mount and hook up with the wire harness adapters provided. A long overdue and great addition to the Universal replacement line of components from Honeywell.
Thank you for making my service life easier and keeping my truck stock reduced0 -
You mean...
After 20-years of claims to have a universal replacement, someone actually, finally got it right?
Since all the other "universal replacements" that went before - all were claimed to be the latest, greatest and cover 99.9% of all previous models, somehow this latest claim from Honeywell, a company that made the exact same claim about 30 times before, has a hollow ring.
How many minutes/hours/days/weeks before this one too is "obsolete" - and a better replacement comes out?
If I sound skeptical, I cannot imagine why (;-o)

As one who worked
for Honeywell for five years as an instructor for their Source program the word Universal never meant it replaced everything. That is why you are encouraged to use cross references with all Universal controls as the do not replace "everything".
The new S8610U-3009 is also a nice addition to Honeywells line of controls for replacement with added features the old S8610U line did not have. The added features allow for varied prepurge and adaptability to many different systems with Dip Switch control of those varied functions.
They also have the new ST9120U Universal Electronic Fan Timer.
I have not seen the S9200U control, I was aware it was coming out but have not seen it yet will have to go on Honeywells site and look it over.0 -
Went to Honeywells web
site and downloaded instructions for the S9200U, it like the ST9120U and the S8610U-3009 are set up to be compatible with EnviraCOM enabled thermostats and perform advanced diagnostics when connected to EnviraCOM enabled dignostic tools such as web based EnviraLNK remote diagnostics application, the OnWatch Quicklook 72 and the W8735D Telephone Access Module. It incudes alarms and diagnostics such as state of the equipment and even flame current can be measured from a remote location.
This is the furure folks.
I have to check and see if they have modified the S8910U Hot Surface Ignition Module???0 -
The S8910U
still looks like the smae old control no changes that I can see, I wonder if they will be making any changes to that control also to make it compatible with EnviraCOM Systems?0 -
Great outlook on things Ken
Is there the possibility you could look at the positive side of things.
O.K. maybe Universal is a stretch as the board will not replace every board out there. However, it will replace many single stage hot surface ignition controls that are out there now. The most important part to me is this board will allow me to TAKE CARE OF MANY OF MY CUSTOMERS by having the part on my truck, rather than having to run to a supply house every time I need a board. I'm sure you can relate to taking care of your customers.
Now of course as time goes on I'm sure there will be new boards it won't replace. **** if Honeywell was psychic they could re design their "universal" boards before the OEM's do, but of course they can't, unless you have an answer to this little dilemma.0 -
Tim I agree...
the New S8610U is a nice addition, great for replacing all the spark modules out there with pre-purge time delays, and the diagnostic lights are a nice touch too.
If you can get your hands on a S9200U do so, I am sure you will like it.0 -
I'm sure that is next...
as White Rodgers has a module out that I believe has a few more features than the S8910U. Of course the number of Integrated HSI control boards out there is much higher than the number of HSI Modules so I'm sure the S9200U was a much higher priority.0 -
Your Welcome, and Thank you...
I've already used a few of the new S8610U3009 modules and love the improvements, and of course as I said above th S9200U looks great too. Haven't needed to use the ST fan timer board yet, as I haven't had a problem with those yet.
By the way, will the On-Watch Quick Look work with the Enviracom connector on these boards, and if so, what will it tell me?0 -
Yes, they will, but..
Only the new "flourescent green" ones will. They work with the R7184, L7224, the new S8610, S92XX, S93XX, C7835A. They read cad cell ohms, Microamps, Aquastat well temp, Line volts, Air duct temps, and Enviracom error codes.0 -
Thanks for the info, Bill!
Will have to get me a Quick Look soon.0 -
3009
Just used one of the 3009s. I like the purge timing choices and the LEDs. Also the black color to show the newer version. I must say I couldn't find the LEDs until I tested the control, they are bright enough but tiny. Thanks for a good product.0
