Draining system of Rhomar cleaner - Expansion Tank
Tomorrow I'll be flushing the Rhomar Hydrosolv out of my heating system. This is a radiant system with Combicore water heater.
My plan was to connect a hose to the system and the sink. Then close a ball valve so when the water pressure regulator is opened up, the water will flush completely through the system until clear and the pH is the same as the tap water. I will then close the ball valves on each of the four radiant loops and flush them out one-at-a-time.
My question: the expansion tank has water in it. Do I simply close the valves that isolate this part of the plumbing, open the silcock and drain it? When all the pressure is released, does the expansion tank membrane squeeze all the water out, or will there still be a few inches remaining?
Does my approach make sense?0
