4 year old pinnacle boiler

Is it all the way around the exchanger? Or just that side?

    ANNUAL Service

This boiler resides in our own shop. It IS serviced every year to include cleaning the combustion chamber.

This is what Matt found this year after having it pristine from the previous year.

Matt is musing about putting "A pinch between your cheek and gum" for that full hydronic pleasure.

Anyone for a cup of Delta T or Hydronic Coffee?

We can only surmise that it is business establishment located behind us that burns (apparently legal) substances in his solid fuel burning stove/furnace. It puts out quite a bit of smoke, much like Scott Milne.

    Regards,

    PR

EDIT: This has been running without incident for 4 years and was set up with a combustion analyzer.

    i have not seen

the Peerless oil fired, however i would hope after a years operation that it would look cleaner than that... have you looked around the vents it seems strange to me that all these various condensing boilers seem to be Cleaning the Atmosphere rather than polluting it like our older boilers.:)

maybe you can send the neighbours the bill . would the DOE love to have invented That new form of revenue:)

i noticed in many of the major cities that there is definitely an air quality particulate acquisition during the day...so much so, that you can wash your hands and face come down the elevator, walk across the street take out a white handkerchief ,wipe your face and what looks like soot shows up on the handkerchief... i wonder if it is pollen or something along those lines though that causes the beginning of the process of this accumulation that has shown up on a few installs over the years...are you getting some of the new and improved nat gas in your area? maybe in this instance That might be the cause.

well, thanks for sharing some insight...

    Nat Gas

Matt did change out the blower. The seal was corrupted on the shaft with the impeller.

All's well, it is still purring along.

    Our shop

has a Plumbing division, HVAC division, and Radiant Division. I will service it weekly if needed just to keep the scorched air junkies off my back. Let's just let this be our little secret.

Honestly, each year we have seen "Normal" accumulation, but this year must have been particulary abnormal.

My only point is that modulating/condensing boilers need to be serviced. Period.

    Cleaning

How do you clean the portion behind refractory? Just curious.

    Thanks, Marc
