Hi All, What are the advantages/disadvantages of having the circulating pump(s) located in the return piping of a mono-flow system. Does it matter? Thanks, Roland

best answer are in the
Best answers are in the book" pumpimg away"..... There are no really advantages except back then the pumps would last longer on "cool" return temp. On packaged boilers, having pump on return side, you can stack more boilers in truck for shipping... As our Saint Holohan quoted," Are you letting the shipping engineering design the heating systems?"... Best to get the book for all your questons regarding the pump location....0 -
So long as you are
pumping away from the expansion tank, it does not matter much at all. As rgb said, the old way of "on the return" was to keep the circulator cooler. Now we lubricate them with hot water for crying out loud."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
