How to you bleed a hotwater heating system when "all" the water has been drained to replace copper pipes (leak) between to basement radiators?

Converting Hot Water Radiator to Steam
Hi,
I have an old house with a steam heating system. One of my rooms does not have a cast iron radiator, so I decided to buy an old hot water radiator which I will be converting over to a hot steam radiator. Is this a safe and common practice?
Also, is it safe to use galvanized steel parts to make the conversion?
Please advice... Thanks-

The radiators should have bleeder valves on them. Run pressure up to 20#, then bleed out the air. This should do it, but you may need to purge. As for the other post about the steam rad conversion, you should start a new post and post a picture of the rad. Only certain rads can be either steam or water. Depends if it has a top & bottom pipe, or just a bottom pipe...

Just re-read your post. A HW rad will work fine for steam, and galvi is fine.
