PLASTIC EXHAUST RESTRICTIONS
A building contractor told me (a boiler contractor) that ABS pipe is not permissible as exhaust pipe for condensing boilers. I know about hollow-core restrictions, but has anyone heard about ABS restrictions?0 -
check
Kent,
Best advise is always check the specific equipments installation instructions. Most inspectors and code officials will allow any venting as long as it is listed in the installation book for the specific equipment and model.
To my knowledge, I have never seen ABS allowed for venting with exception to fresh air intake only. Most often the ones listed are: sch40 DWV,sch80 & CPVC.0 -
Kent look at a posting
I just resurrected titled "no more PVC for venting". Some very intersting information as related to your question.0 -
