WETSTOCK DENVER PROPOSAL (Dan H.)

that direction, they could go there

Since you folks brought it up,

Marianne and I have these questions:

Could we do a Wetstock near Denver Airport on Saturday, April 12. Would that date work?

HeatingHelp.com would run this as a non-profit event, with all the money raised, after administrative and travel expenses, going to the Susan Komen For the Cure Foundation. We'd give this money to the Foundation in the Pompetti's name, since they'll be doing the 60-mile walk again in 2008.

Wilo's Steve Thompson has offered to pick up the lunch. Could we get an additional corporate sponsor for breakfast, and another for a couple of hours of beer and wine in the afternoon?

Could we get manufacturers to take table-tops around the perimeter of the room at, say, $200 for the day?

Would the people attending pay $50 each to be there?

Could we get 300 people to show up?

    Your turn.

    Retired and loving it.

    Could you

scout out a suitable hotel that's within a cab ride of DIA and large enough to handle a meeting of this size? Thanks, Tim. Looking forward to hanging out again.

    Thanks great JB but...

I already know you've a pretty good baseball team out there and your football isn't too bad. Let's just not talk about when you get here (unless the Rockies win it all).

Good job, Tim, for getting this thing started. This is so cool to have it in my back yard again. Yes, count me in! And to benefit the Cure makes it all that much better.

Dan, I’m not sure I can make this event but God knows I’d love to. But for you, Marianne and Janice Pompetti Oil Tech Talk will make a commitment of $200.00 toward the beer and wine.

    Sponsors

We'll need those other two corporate sponsors to make this happen.

We'll take the first two that step up. Thanks.

I'll be there for certain, probably will bring at least one other chap along for the experience. I know this is pushing it, but will there be anything for the ladies to do should they tag along?
  • Oh Oh

Tim, you may be saying that in jest, but Mrs. Grumpy can cast a mean line, and has landed some trophy fish in her day. The Bass Pro Shop wouldn't slow her down a bit.

    Ready, willing and able...

Count us in for sponsorship! And, with hope, we'll be wearing out 2007 World Series champ t-shirts -- in RED!!!!

    Air fare?

Remarkably, airfares from Burlington VT to Denver are only $305!

I cannot commit to something that far in advance, but Jaye and I may be ready for an adventure by then. And if the Rockies take it all, all us right coasters can gloat and make all the Rockies fans buy us beer.

    Maybe not.

Coors? Is that still considered beer?

    Seriously now

There is a lot to do in Colorado, maybe arrange a daytrip to Estes Park or something like that. Lots of great shopping Malls nearby as well. What would the ladies like? That should be the first question.

Remember the Susan Komen For the Cure Foundation

This event will be a lot of fun for us Wetheads but remember the beneficiary of the event. Wives and significant others should be encouraged to attend. While maybe not attend the Wetstock Event, there will be other things going on. Ask your wives, let's see what they want to do.
