crawl space heating

I have designed houses where the heating was distributed via a below-floor plenum. Sealed concrete, insulated, downflow furnace and floor grilles. Worked great. BUT, the crawlspace was "purpose built", insulated, vapor barrier, hatches for cleaning, you name it.
Absent that kind of construction, I would be very cautious about taking an unknown and making it part of your living space. Sure, you can "overheat" a crawlspace and call it "radiant" if you are not planning on an air exchange method, but is that really what you want?
Concerns of mold, radon (FWIW)..
Have you thought of "staple up with plates" or other means if indirect heating? If you have that kind of space you can make an attempt, starting with the right heat loss calculations.

crawl space heating
where can I find a cataloge or supplier that will give me options for fins, coils, or whatever for installation in the crawl space of our rancher? We would like to heat the house from the crawl space.
Thx0 -
Are you talkin g about
a radiant floor heating system that can be installed from a crawl space area? I doubt you would want to heat the entire sopace to warm the space above??
There are plenty of options for installing floor radiant from below.
First do or have someone do a room by room heatload. With this info you can chose from a selection of retro fit products to add heat to your home.
Virtually all the major radiant manufactutres offer below the floor retro fit products and training. Search their websites for a contractor that could guide you along the safe path.
Let us know what you decide.
