Plug for HW air vent?
Patrick North
Member Posts: 84
Refinishing an old wall rad that had at one time been used as a HW rad- I'll be using it with one pipe steam. I'm going to have them powdercoated and want to plug the 1/4" tap where the old air vent went (and I'll have to tap a new one for the steam vent). Is a brass plug appropriate here, or will I have issues with expansion/contraction?
Thanks,
Patrick
Thanks,

Plug for air vent
Usually that is an 1/8" npt plug for that, I would use an iron plug, easily obtainable.0 -
Either type will work
just dope or tape it properly and it won't leak, especially on less than 2 pounds!.

Thanks-
I'll post some pictures once it's done- this is the rad that's (surprise!) needed a couple of left-handed plugs, courtesy of the illustrious Christian Egli.
Thanks guys,
