Hey Dan, How about a Wetstock?
Before I get into this I want to let it be known that I am a Salesman for a Rep Agency that became the WILO Representative a few months ago. This is not a pitch for a product, but for people and the relationships that develop in an Industry. I have spent the past few days with Mark Dagostino (US Western Regional Manager for WILO) and Steve Thompson (North America VP of Training & many other hats). While I have spent a lot of time with Mark and become friends as well as business associates, this was the first extended time I spent with Steve. We attended a Trade Show in Colorado Springs and spent the night in the same hotel where I first got to another friend in the business. Dan Holohan.
I'm sure you remember that miserable show about 12 years ago when we didn't have any (well hardly any) attendees for three days in Colorado Springs. I remember this because I got to know fellow exhibitors and the featured speaker. I was fairly new in the biz back then but learned the benefit of networking and learning from other people in the Industry.
When I was with Steve and Mark, we talked about a lot of past experiences and people we had met and interaction with. Something about this conversation really hit home with me and I started to think about all the exceptional people I have been associated with over the years. I won't name names because with my luck I would leave someone important off the list.
This really is a small circle in the hydronics Biz and the value of relationships and networking has value that cannot be measured. While Trade Shows are great for networking, the very best networking event I have seen is Dan's Wetstock Event (Denver is where I attended).
So, how about it Dan. Would you hold another Wetstock? In Denver? Here are some incentives:
You can enjoy a shot that has gunpowder in it (Whaaaah!)
You can eat deep fried bovine oysters
You shoot potatos from a cannon
How can you say no?0 -
I'll second that.

Pick a spot
that is easy to fly in to and has the room nearby.
Seems to be some nice facilities near or even at DIA. Saves the cab fare or car rental hassles.

I'm in too. I think Denver would be a good location as it is a hub for just about anyone flying across the country.0 -
I'm in! The amount of information I have taken home from the wet-stocks have surpassed hours of classroom training. Not to mention it would be great to SEE some old friends again...

Mr. Hunt
Do you mean Marlboro? I was sitting next to you, when you got up to leave I thought he/she was gonna' hit on me next. I try to block that image out...........0 -
Yup
You got the nightmares too Bill?
We should form a support group.

And airfare cost to Denver is pretty similar no matter where you depart. New Orleans is bargain, but I have to admit it's kind of hard to concentrate on anything except your senses when you're there...
Perhaps Minneapolis? Have always heard it's a great, clean city.

Me too!
I'll be there ;~)
Yours, Larry0 -
Thats the big question

Well ??

Count me in
Denver is only a few hours from here by air. I'd make that trip in a heartbeat! Baltimore was great, couldn't make R.I., but I sure won't miss the next one if it is held!0 -
Wetstock
We'll sponcer the lunch - let's do it!0 -
Enough of us..?
Perhaps we really dedicated people would be willing to pay a bit more to make it financially viable? The last one in Denver was really great.
