I've heard various reasons why the pump should be on one side of the other. Mine has been on the return side forever and never mattered.

pump placement
just had 2 hot water heaters for baseboard heat put in on 20 unit building, but I think that pump was installed in wrong location.Installer put it on the return line,I've always seen them on the outlet side after the air seperator..also,only one boiler comes on because flow switch is not turning on....is this related to the pump? thanx0 -
water heaters
What kind of water heaters. We but the circ on the supply side of the boiler, but these are water heaters? Is the pump you are referring to the recirc pump to keep hot water in the domestic system? Makes a big difference of which you speak.
