flakes in boiler water

Just had a service call with a EK1 energy kinetics boiler. Boiler is short cycling bad. I found the plate HE plugged with debris that is metallic.(used a magnet)I flushed the system entirely and put some TSP in it.
HO said this has happen before. He said the installer used hercules boiler stop leak when it was installed around 10years ago. They have had problems since day one.
I said we may have to put a dirt filter on and replace the HE. I am concerned about the steel boiler. Is it possible this has been effected by the liquid boiler product?
I've installed the EK 1's before but have never seen this before.

    Why the boiler leak stuff? was there a leak or did they fine this was a neccessary step? I would be calling the installer and finding out why. In ten years, never needed boiler leak stop on an old boiler, let alone a new install.
