anyone familiar with apricus sollar collectors?

has anyone had any experience with them, they seem to be much cheaper than viessmann but is the quality as high? I did notice they were mad in china and i've heard there have been an abnormal amount of failures with chinese collectors. just wondering if they might be a viable budget alternative to viessmann. also, how does their controller stack up to the vitosolic 200.

I have heard from a friend who has worked with them that the Apricus evac tubes are decent quality, the brackets are sturdy, etc. IMO the Viessmann evac tube collector prices are crazy. I don't know about the Apricus controller. There's not much to a solar control, so I dont see how it could be too bad.

The Chinese government is installing evacuated tube collectors by the millions of square feet in their own country, so they must have some reasonable faith in their ability to return significantly more energy than they take to produce. It would not surprise me however if their export models were different--or even seconds...

they are in common usage around our area in maine, and seem to hold up well if the paste is used.
