Pressuretrol

Level only matter if it has a mercury bulb in it.

It should be attached to a pig tail. There is a possibility that the pig tail is plugged.

Also make sure that the system is not full of water. What is the level in the sight glass?

    Adjusting/repairing pressuretrols

    Hi,

My pressuretrol is not kicking in when it should be. If I take the cover off (Honeywell) I can manually push down the level piece that connects to the pipe and the burner will kick in just fine. Does this need to be adjusted (leveled) or should I just install a new one (and is that easy)?

    Thanks.

    pressuretrol

With the pressure off the system and preferably cool, take the pressuretrol and its pigtail "thats the soil of pile that it's attached to" and make sure the pigtail is not full of rust, mud and other crap. Same with the inlet to the pressure trol. If it all looks clean then you need a new one.

I am assumin that you meant to type coil of pipe in that last reply. The water in the sight was high so I lowered that. Is ther another place in the system that I need to bleed water out of the burner?
