two questions on cast-iron baseboard
The paper behind the baseboard are usually called , dust seal. The purpose to have high enough above the radiator so you can fold it forward to have wood trim above same. Its help keep the dusts from streaking the wall when the heat is on and rising... Will it burns? Nope, the paper burn at 451 degrees, radaitor will never get that hot...

questions on cast-iron baseboard
Our house is being rebuilt after a fire and we have hot water baseboard heat. Our contractor put back the baseboards, but mounted them on wood spacers so that he can slide the drywall down behind them.
1) should reflective paper be behind the baseboards?
If so, what kind?
2) And is this required just for efficiency or is it a fire hazard not to? (there used to be asbestos paper)
Oh, and are the wood spacers ok... just kind of paranoid about another fire (even though the first one was electric)
Thanks.0
