    I always wondered how...

    212 steam could be differentiated from 212 water.

    And now - I still don't know.

    The question becomes: How do you know?

    Blown trap? I don't think so. Not based on that thermogram!

    Irisys IRI 1020. Bought it on ebay..new from distributer in NY. www.irisys.co.uk I am pretty sure there are more on ebay. This one was far less than FLIR units.

    One of steams dirty little secrets is that the trap uses it's external number of square feet of surface area to cool the condensate. If the traps guts are blown steam rips on to the condensate side. If the traps guts are in tack the buoyancy of the condensate is the little secret that makes things happen.
