Here's where we are so far:
Tim Lindstrom checked out the Renaissance Denver Hotel and Marianne got in touch with them. They have space for us on April 12, 2008 and they're giving us a great rate on sleeping rooms. They're sending Marianne all the details on space, food, drinks and whatnot.
Wilo has generously picked up the tab for lunch.
Taco has generously picked up the tab for a couple of hours of beer and wine in the afternoon.
I need a sponsor to pick up the breakfast.
I also need a sponsor for the room rental.
All who help make this charitable event happen will be showered with love and attention. Promise.
Then I need a whole lot of Wetheads to sign up and bring ideas and enthusiasm to Denver next spring.
Please e-mail me at mailroom@heatinghelp.com if you'd like to be a sponsor of Wetstock Denver. Taco and Wilo are doing the heavy lifting on this; the rest is easy. Thanks.Retired and loving it.0 -
I'm not sure
those are allowed in Colorado, David. :-)Retired and loving it.0 -
A bit of a drive
but they serve grits over the line in Nebraska, be for warned the cook them real thick when cool made patties threw on a grill with butter until warm, served with Maple Syrup.0 -
Boy, it sounds like things were ripe for another WetStock. Everyone is excited and willing to come from all over the country. This could turn out to be one of the best yet.
The hotel is very easy to find, just a few blocks south of I70 at the Quebec exit. It is actually right across the street from where the old Stapleton airport used to be, which has been redeveloped into shops and housing.
Things to do in Denver when your spouse is otherwise occupied-
Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Gate plantarium, and the Denver Zoo are all right in the heart of Denver.
Plenty of skiing. Most of the major ski areas are about 1 1/2 hours away.
As was already mentioned, Estes Park is about 1 1/2 hours away. A nice drive and lots of shops there.
Colo. Springs is one hour south and has the Air Force, Garden of the Gods, and the Pikes Peak cog railway.
Ok, hope that helps.

Spoken like a true native. I visited Denver for the first time last month. Whirlwind in-out family reunion (union actually since I hadn't met any of them before). The Capital and County/City buildings with the park was impressive. Took the nickel tour (pun intended) at the mint. Drove to Boulder. Drove past Red Rocks. Drove the Guanella pass near Mt. Evans. Saw enough to know I'd like to go back and spend a little more time.
Not written in stone but I think I'm in. My first and only Wetstock was Chicago and I'd like to see you all again.

While you are in the planning mode, Dan
An east coast wetstock would be really groovy too, maybe later in the year.0 -
What we learned last time
was that it's possible to do these too often. We won't be doing another in 2008. Thanks for wanting to be there, though.Retired and loving it.0 -
Great news!
Our friend, Rich Corcoran, of Viessmann will be picking up the room rental. Thanks!
Now if we can get a sponsor for the breakfast we can get make this happen.
This is going to be the best ever.Retired and loving it.0
