Steam Heating One pipe systeam question
William Browne
Member Posts: 3
I have a 6ft length of one and a quarter inch steel fin tube radiation on my one pipe steam system. My problems are water hammer and a spitting air vent. What can I use to replace the fit tube and how much of it would I need to match the fin tubes EDR

steam question
Most likely it is the way the element is piped. IF feed by a smaller pipe and not done correctly, condensate will get trapped in the larger pipe of the fin tube and cause the issues you describe. Can I assume it is properly pitched?
The output of the element depends on the enclosure as much as the size and lenght of the element. You need to know the size of the element fins and what they are made of and what kind and size of enclosure. If you wish, e-mail me direct and give me that info and I'll try and get you an answer. Also...is what you have the right size for the space?
