Horizontal Run Out Pipe Change

I want to change a large radiator in my living room to two smaller radiators. Existing rad 50 EDR would like to go with 2 30-35 EDR. The existing horizontal run out pipe is 1-1/4", 8 foot run. If I go with 2 radiators I will have to increase the run out to 1-1/2". My question is this - can I use a 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 coupling at the tee on the main(2x1-1/4x2)instead of replacing it with a 2x1-1/2x2 tee?

choking the line
if it would work o.k. & i think it might although it is 100 % wrong, you will definitely need a eccentric coupling or you will have a physical trap & banging like crazy.0
