and meant to post... Good of you to recognize it, Dan.

Dave- great article, one that should find it's way as a handy reference in re-prints, maybe more permanent status if Taunton ever does a more mechanical book culled from excellent articles.

Congratulations on a job well-done!

Great article by PAH in the current Fine Homebuilding - Kitchens & Baths issue. See if this link works:

Way to raise the bar, Dave, and educate the masses!

I missed you at the Solar Decathlon this weekend. We are heading back tomorrow for one final look. Go Maryland!

    I read it last weekend....

and didn't put the authors name together with the Wall. Very good from a homeowners perspective. I'll soon be up against that decision as I have a 11 year old cheapy tank WH. Thanks.

    Well written and

nicely illustrated. No mention of solar preheat? But your picture looks to be one with a solar tube in hand :)

That was fun to write and FHB did a great job with the graphic illustrations. It's generated lots of reader e-mails. Thanks for the high praise, which means more coming from my peers.

    Solar is in the works(G).

They're striving to create an interactive water heater sizing and life-cycle cost guide on their web site using my Excell spread sheets. It's a work in progress, but nearing completion. Solar will be included if they use all my info on life-cycle costing.
