Hoffman Valve

I have a 1925 2 pipe steam system in a 5000 sg ft house, that originally had a huge coal fired boiler which was replaced by a more efficient natural gas fired Bryant boiler. At the end of the system there is a Hoffman Differential Loop with a Hoffman No 11 Vacuum/Vapor valve on top of it. due to uneven heat, I think it is time to replace the valve, however, they have not made that vale for 35 years, and it appears it was never designed for gas/oil applications. the best I have learned is that the only valve that will work at this time on this system is a Hoffman #75 valve. Anybody have any info on this matter ?

A Gorton #2 vent
is a good replacement for that Hoffman #11. In a house as big as yours, I'd install a tee and two Gorton #2 vents.
The steam mains on your system are vented by radiator traps that route the air into the dry return. From there, the air travels to the Differential Loop and is vented there. These "crossover traps" must be functioning properly or the system will heat slowly.
