burner flame

If the boiler is natural gas they shouldn't be touched. In any case they can only be adjusted with a combustion analyzer or the fuel/air mixture will be messed up. Cannot be eyeballed!!!

burner flame
On a steam boiler I have 4 burners with adjustable air inlet baffles. My question is what type of flame should I have? How far from burner tip should flame be? How much air is to much? etc... Thank you for any info.0
